The Night Market Back in the 626! - July 1-3, 2016

You know it's July when the night market comes
home to 626 and Santa Anita Park!

After two OC Night Markets at the OC Fairgrounds,
it's back home in the 626 area code.

at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia
July 1 - 3, 2016

It was actually a really nice weekend,
not too hot and brought out a lot of people.

See What Jay Eats...

Everyone has a Mad Scientist friend, right?

Holy Smokes serves up
a liquid nitrogen dessert.

Look for them at the July 22-24

 Enjoying Popd'Up's
Peach Passion Fruit Soda

One of their specials this weekend.

I always get over to Pop'd Up too late
and usually get whatever they have left.
But today, I was able to get there early
and tried the Special.

You can't go wrong with any of Popd'Up
craft sodas, especially on a hot day.

Went over to try a new vendor,

Their menu is based on meatballs.

The Fried Chicken N Waffle Balls
with bourbon maple syrup.

 The Banh Mi Balls

Great Vietnamese flavors
and meatballs sitting on fries.

This was my favorite at Them Balls

Tanayas.Table takes over Snapchat for Spoon University,
so I had to make my presence known
and crashed the chat!

I don't know how she puts up with my antics...

 The Crab Dream

Crunchy soft shell Tomyum crab
served on a Heavenly Sweet & Spicy Cloud

If crab isn't your thing, they had a bacon one too.

This was one of the more unique items at 626.

A pork belly skewer from Korean BBQ

I figure it's a night market, I needed a meat
stick of some kind.  If you've been to a night
market, you know what I'm talking about.
If not, come out to a night market.  lol

A grilled half a lobster

There's nothing like a charcoal grilled lobster.

The Melonade

Watermelon and Lemonade Ribbons
in a LED mug.
(too bad you can't see it light up)

It was really good on a hot day!

 Cheers Chilly Ribbons!

 The S'mores Ice Cream Donut

The marshmallow was toasted perfectly!

The Pink Pandan

With Dragon Fruit, Passion Fruit, Strawberry,
and Apple liquid nitrogen ice cream.

If you like pandan, you'll like this ice cream.

 Another new vendor,
The Naughty Churro

Nick working the fryer
and creating some tasty
churro ice cream sandwiches

Tanayas.Table holds the
"Winner Winner"
churro fried chicken sandwich
tossed in maple butter.

We got the double fried chicken,
it pays to be in-the-know,
thanks to Tanaya.

I'll have to try the dessert churro next time.

The Thai Curry Fries
(Kai-Soi)
from Oun Boy Burger

Good flavor and something I'd have again,
it just took a long long time.

It was a beautiful night
and really crowded,
but it was fun with 626 Night Market friends.

If you've never been to a 626 Night Market,
the next one at Santa Anita Park is
